It delivers SuperSpeed transfer up to 5 Gbps when both ends are USB 3.0 compliant, and falls back to USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 ports without extra setup. The one-foot length keeps the run short for desk-side devices. Note that the cable cannot connect two computers directly.
