This 3.3 ft cable adds reach between a host computer and standard USB-A peripherals such as keyboards, mice, flash drives, printers and external hard drives. It carries both data and charging current up to 2 A through gold-plated, corrosion-resistant connectors housed in an aluminium-alloy shell with a nylon-braided jacket. Practical limits of the USB 3.0 interface

Full 3.0 transfer rates require both the host port and the connected device to support the 3.0 standard; otherwise the link falls back to 2.0 or 1.1 speeds. An aged or loose port, oxidised contacts, or a humid environment can also prevent 3.0 operation. The cable is not compatible with Oculus VR headsets and does not support Thunderbolt 3.
