Cold-pressed watercolor pad for students

The Hapikalor 9" x 12" pad contains 20 sheets of 140 lb, 300 gsm cold-pressed paper in a teal cover. Acid-free, neutral pH stock suits watercolor, acrylic, pencil, ink and mixed-media work for beginners and experienced artists alike.

140 lb / 300 gsm weight decides wet-media

At 140 lb the sheets handle heavy washes and multiple glazes without buckling, while the cold-press texture holds pigment for controlled granulation. Lighter 68 lb / 100 gsm papers will cockle under the same water load.

Twenty sheets give roughly 15 square feet

That covers a semester of daily studies or several finished pieces before a new pad is needed. Large-format work or high-volume workshops will exhaust the supply quickly.

Questions about this item

How does 140lb weight behave when wet paint sits on it?

The 140lb cold-pressed sheets resist buckling under washes and hold pigment without feathering, so layers stay crisp even with heavy water use.

What does cold-pressed texture mean for pencil and brush work?

The slightly textured surface grabs coloured-pencil and charcoal while still allowing smooth brush strokes for watercolour and acrylic.

Will the 9"x12" pad fit in a standard portfolio sleeve?

Yes, the 9 by 12 inch sheets match common portfolio and folder dimensions, and the 0.5 inch thick pad slides in easily.
