Square black plastic 40 mm fan with four-wire PWM connector

Haywards

Haywards 40×40×28 mm 12 V PWM Fan DBTB0428B2G

SKU CH-VTJX-ES504

12 V PWM fan with double ball bearing delivers up to 18000 RPM and 19.4 CFM for compact server cooling

  • 12 V PWM control adjusts speed automatically
  • 40 × 40 × 28 mm frame fits standard 40 mm mounts
  • Double ball bearing rated for 70000 hours
  • 18000 RPM delivers 19.4 CFM airflow
  • 4-wire interface supports speed monitoring

Compact high-speed cooling

The Haywards DBTB0428B2G is a 40×40×28 mm 12 V PWM fan built for tight computer-case spaces. Its four-wire interface enables intelligent temperature control and speed monitoring for systems that demand active airflow management.

Capacity and headroom

At 18000 RPM it moves 19.4 CFM, delivering strong airflow for small-form-factor builds or component spot-cooling. The 54 dB noise level and 12 W draw mark the practical ceiling; sustained loads at maximum speed will be audible and require a capable 12 V rail.

Upgrade path

It replaces slower 40 mm fans or 5 V models such as the Delta ASB0405LB where higher static pressure is needed. The jump is worthwhile when thermal headroom is exhausted at lower speeds and the system can tolerate the acoustic trade-off.

Questions about this item

Will the 40×40×28 mm size and 4-pin PWM connector fit my older motherboard headers?

The fan measures 40×40×28 mm and uses a standard 4-pin PWM connector, so it will fit any motherboard header that accepts 40 mm fans and 4-pin PWM control.

How can I verify the fan is running at the advertised 18000 RPM after installation?

Use BIOS hardware monitoring or software such as HWMonitor to read the RPM signal from the 4-pin connector; the fan should report speeds up to 18000 RPM ±10 % under full PWM duty.

Does the package include mounting screws or do I need to buy them separately?

The supplier lists "Package: Yes", which typically means the fan ships with mounting screws; no separate purchase is required for basic installation.
