SKU CH-9J20-RWNGE

A 40 mm square, 28 mm thick PWM fan delivering 12 W at up to 18000 RPM with 19.4 CFM airflow and 54 dB noise

  • 40×40×28 mm compact frame fits tight chassis spaces
  • 12 V PWM control adjusts speed to thermal demand
  • Double ball bearing rated for 70000 hours of operation
  • 4 CFM airflow at up to 18000 RPM delivers strong cooling
  • 54 dB noise level suits performance-focused builds

High-Speed 40mm PWM Cooling Fan

The Haywards DBTB0428B2G is a 12V axial fan measuring 40×40×28mm with a 4-pin PWM interface. It targets builders who need concentrated airflow in tight spaces such as small-form-factor cases or targeted component cooling. Double ball bearings support a rated life of 70000 hours at high rotational speeds.

PWM Control and Voltage Window

Speed is regulated by the motherboard through the 4-wire PWM connection across an operating range of 7.0-13.4V. The fan spins up to 18000RPM±10% and produces 54 dB of noise at full speed, which is inherent to the high-RPM design. Buyers who need near-silent operation should look elsewhere.

19.4 CFM Airflow at 12W

The single figure that determines fit is the 19.4 CFM air volume delivered at 12W power draw and 1A current. This airflow level suits focused spot cooling but will not replace larger case fans for whole-chassis ventilation. Verify that your header can supply the required current before installation.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the 40 mm and 80 mm versions listed?

The title references an 80 mm Sunon PF80251B2-0000-S99 rated at 3.4 W, but the detailed specs describe a 40×40×28 mm unit drawing 12 W with a 1 A current rating.

What does the 18000 RPM headline speed mean once the fan is installed?

The fan can spin up to 18000 RPM ±10 % under PWM control, moving 19.4 CFM of air while producing 54 dB of noise at that speed.

What does the 4-wire PWM interface actually control in practice?

The 4-pin connector carries PWM intelligent temperature control and speed measurement signals, allowing the system to vary fan speed between 7.0 V and 13.4 V operating range.
