  • 40×40×28 mm frame fits standard 40mm mounts

40 mm 12 V high-speed cooling fan

This 40 mm cooling fan runs on 12 V and draws 1 A for 12 W of power. Double ball bearings support speeds up to 18000 RPM with a 70000-hour rated life. PWM intelligent temperature control adjusts fan speed automatically while the fourth wire provides speed measurement.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Builders needing strong airflow in a tight 40×40×28 mm space will appreciate the 19.4 CFM rating. The 54 dB noise level makes it unsuitable for quiet workstations or home-theatre PCs. Buyers who want silent operation or larger frame sizes should look at alternative cooling solutions.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify that your header supplies a 4-pin PWM signal and can deliver 12 V at 1 A continuously. Confirm the 40 mm mounting pattern and 28 mm thickness fit your chassis or heatsink clearance. Ensure the operating voltage range of 7.0–13.4 V matches your power source.

Questions about this item

What 4-pin power header must my motherboard or fan controller provide for the DBTB0428B2G to run?

The fan needs a standard 4-wire PWM header that can supply 12 V at up to 1 A within the 7.0–13.4 V operating range.

Will the 40×40×28 mm frame and 4-pin connector fit the same mounting holes and header as a 60×60×25 mm Sunon KDE1206PTV1 unit?

No — the Haywards fan is 40 mm square and 28 mm thick, so it uses smaller mounting centres and will not align with the 60 mm Sunon screw pattern.

How can I confirm the fan is spinning at its rated 18000 RPM after installation?

Use the fourth wire’s tachometer signal in BIOS or monitoring software; a reading near 18000 RPM ±10 % shows the PWM speed control is working.
