High-Speed 40 mm Centrifugal Blower

The Haywards DBTB0428B2G is a 40 mm centrifugal blower designed for computer-case cooling. It runs on 12 V DC and draws up to 1 A, reaching speeds of 18000 RPM with a 10 % tolerance. The unit delivers 19.4 CFM of airflow at a noise level of 54 dB.

Check Voltage, Connector and Clearance

Verify that your system provides a 12 V supply within the 7.0-13.4 V operating range and a 4-pin power interface. The blower measures 40×40×28 mm, so confirm the mounting space matches these dimensions. The four-wire connection supports PWM intelligent temperature control and speed measurement.

Suited for Tight High-Airflow Builds

This blower suits builders who need strong airflow in a compact 40 mm footprint and can accept 54 dB of noise. It is not for users who require quiet operation, lower speeds, larger fan formats, or a different voltage such as 48 V.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what must I supply separately?

The centrifugal blower ships with the fan unit and its 4-wire PWM connector; you will need to provide a 12 V DC power source and a motherboard or controller header that accepts a 4-pin PWM signal.

How do I decide between the 12 V and 48 V versions?

Choose the 12 V model (7.0–13.4 V operating range, 1 A, 12 W) if your system runs on a standard 12 V rail; select the 48 V AVC BN12054B48U variant (0.66 A) only when a 48 V supply is already present.

What does the 18000 RPM rating mean once the blower is installed?

At full PWM duty the fan spins up to 18000 RPM ±10 %, moving 19.4 CFM through a 40×40×28 mm frame while producing 54 dB of noise; double ball bearings give a 70000-hour life rating at that speed.
