Commercial Grade Electric Strike
The HES 8300 electric door strike fits cylindrical locksets on metal or wood frames. It operates on 12 or 24 volt input and offers selectable fail safe or fail secure modes. The stainless steel faceplate measures 1 7/16 in wide by 4 7/8 in high with a 5/8 in bolt throw. This unit is built for heavy duty access control installations.
500 lb Pull Force Limit
The strike withstands 500 pounds of static pull force and is rated for 500,000 operating cycles. It carries a Grade 1 certification but is not fire rated. The narrow style faceplate depth is 1 1/16 in. Installers must verify that the frame material and lockset backset align with these mechanical limits before specifying this hardware.
Replaces Lower Grade Strikes
This model upgrades from strikes rated below Grade 1 or those lacking dual voltage flexibility. The jump is worth it when an application demands 500 lb holding force and 500,000 cycle durability in a narrow stainless profile. It is not suited for openings requiring a fire rated assembly or for mortise lockset preparations.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the fail-safe or fail-secure mode for the HES 8300?
The HES 8300 supports both fail-safe and fail-secure modes, selectable during installation to match your building security requirements and local fire codes.
What does the 1,500 lb pull force mean for daily use?
The 1,500 lb pull force rating means the strike can withstand significant forced-entry attempts, providing Grade 1 heavy-duty security for high-traffic commercial doors.
How does the 12/24V input affect wiring and power supply choice?
The dual 12/24V input allows flexible wiring with standard access control power supplies; the strike draws low current at either voltage for reliable operation.
