PWM Fan Hub Options
This PWM fan hub expands a single motherboard PWM header to control multiple cooling fans. Two versions are available: a five-port model with a 40cm cable and an eight-port model with a 50cm cable. Both draw 12V power directly from a PSU Molex LP4 connector. They suit builders who need to run several fans from one header.
RPM Signal Limitation
Only the first port labelled CPU Fan passes an RPM signal back to the motherboard. All other ports share the same PWM signal, so every connected fan runs at identical speed. Three-pin fans attached to the hub will spin at full speed because they lack PWM control. This design cannot report individual fan speeds or vary each fan independently.
Port Capacity and Power
The five-port hub comfortably handles up to five 12V fans while the eight-port version supports up to eight. Both rely on the PSU Molex connection for power headroom rather than the motherboard header. Builders needing more than eight fans or per-fan speed curves will require a different control solution.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 5-port hub with the 40cm cable or the 8-port hub with the 50cm cable?
Choose the 5-port version if you need to power up to five fans and prefer the shorter 40cm lead. Choose the 8-port version if you need up to eight fans and can use the longer 50cm lead. Both draw 12V power from a Molex connector.
What happens to fan speeds when I connect multiple fans to the single motherboard PWM header?
All connected PWM fans follow the same signal from the motherboard header, so they run at identical speeds. The motherboard only reads the RPM from the fan plugged into the first CPU Fan port.
How does the Molex power input limit the hub's operation?
The hub takes 12V solely from a PSU Molex LP4 4-pin connector. This supplies power to every attached fan while the motherboard header only provides the control signal.
