  • Compact enclosure protects your drive during transport
  • Compatible with SATA SSDs and HDDs up to 2.5 inches

Purpose and fit

This enclosure turns a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD into an external USB 3.0 drive. It suits anyone who wants portable access to data from a laptop drive without installing it inside a computer.

Installation and common issues

Slide the drive into the open slot and connect the USB cable to a host port. The only frequent mistake is trying to fit a 3.5 inch drive, which the enclosure physically cannot accept.

Capacity limits and headroom

The case works with any 2.5 inch SATA drive up to the maximum height the slot allows. It cannot power a 3.5 inch mechanism and provides no external power input for larger drives.

The box contains only the 2.5 inch SATA 3.0 to USB 3.0 enclosure; a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD must be bought separately.

Which version should I choose for a 2.5 inch SATA drive?

Select the SATA to USB 3.0 option; this model supports 2.5 inch drives only and does not fit 3.5 inch drives.
