5.25-inch Front Panel Card Reader
The Hetai Tech 5.25-inch Media Dashboard mounts in a standard optical drive bay and adds an 8-in-1 card reader plus front-facing I/O. It connects to the motherboard using a 20-pin USB 3.0 header, a USB 2.0 header, two SATA data cables, a 4-pin power connector and an audio cable. The panel is built from ABS with an etched surface finish.
Suits desktops needing front card access
Builders who want front-panel SD, TF, M2, MMC, MS or CF card slots up to 64 GB capacity will find the reader useful. The kit also provides a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an e-SATA port, a SATA port, a 4-pin power port and headphone/microphone jacks. Systems without a 5.25-inch bay, a spare 20-pin USB 3.0 header or the listed cable connections cannot use this dashboard.

Questions about this item
How do I install the 5.25 inch media dashboard into a front drive bay and connect the 20 pin USB 3.0 cable?
Slide the unit into a free 5.25 inch bay, secure it with screws, then plug the 20 pin USB 3.0 cable into the matching motherboard header, attach the 4 pin power cable, connect the two SATA data cables, the USB 2.0 DuPont cable and the audio cable to their respective headers.
Which memory cards does the built-in 8-in-1 reader support and what is the maximum capacity?
The reader handles M2, TF, SD, MMC, MS and CF cards up to 64 GB capacity; no other card types or larger sizes are supported by this dashboard.
What transfer speed limit will I hit first when moving large files through the USB 3.0 port under sustained use?
The USB 3.0 interface caps at 5 Gbps, so sustained throughput will be limited by that ceiling before the SATA or eSATA links become the bottleneck.
