Front-panel 8-in-1 card reader
This Hetai Tech unit mounts in a 3.5" bay and connects to a motherboard 9-pin USB header. It accepts a wide range of legacy and current memory cards including CompactFlash I and II, Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick variants, SD, SDHC, microSD, miniSD, MMC, RS-MMC, TransFlash, xD and USB flash drives. An activity LED indicates read or write operations.
Suited for legacy card formats and older PCs
Builders maintaining systems that still use CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Memory Stick or xD media will find the broad slot coverage convenient. The USB 2.0 interface is backward compatible with USB 1.1, so the reader works on very old platforms. Users who only need modern SD or microSD cards, or who require faster USB 3.0 speeds, should look at something else.
Fits a 3.5" bay and a spare USB header
Installation requires an available 3.5" front-panel bay and a free 9-pin USB connector on the motherboard. The package supplies the reader, an internal cable and four mounting screws. No external cables are needed once fitted. The device draws power from the USB header and supports Windows 98 through Vista out of the box.

Questions about this item
Does my motherboard need a 9-pin USB header to connect the internal cable?
Yes, the reader plugs into a standard 9-pin USB header on the motherboard using the supplied internal cable.
Will the USB 2.0 interface still function if my board only has USB 1.1 headers?
The device is backward compatible with USB 1.1, so it will work at the lower speed on older headers.
How can I confirm the reader is active after installing it in a 3.5-inch bay?
An LED on the front panel lights up to show card-reading activity once the unit is powered and connected.
