Questions about this item
How does the 480 Mbps USB 2.0 speed affect smart card reading performance?
The 480 Mbps USB 2.0 interface provides ample bandwidth for ISO 7816 smart card communication, which typically operates at much lower data rates, so the reader will not be bottlenecked by the USB link.
What does the USB-CCID ISO 7816 label mean for driver installation?
USB-CCID ISO 7816 means the reader uses the standard CCID class driver built into Windows, Linux and macOS, so no proprietary driver is required — just plug it in and the OS recognises it as a smart card reader.
What physical space and cable reach does the reader need on a desk?
The unit measures 85 x 65 x 7 mm and has a fixed 1.5 m cable, so allow roughly a credit-card footprint plus the cable run to the USB port.
