mSATA to SATA 3.0 Adapter for 2.5" Bays

This enclosure converts an mSATA solid-state drive into a standard 2.5 inch SATA 3.0 device. It fits laptop drive bays measuring 9.5 mm or 12.7 mm in height. The adapter suits owners of older laptops or desktops that lack native mSATA slots but have a free 2.5 inch drive bay.

Passive Operation with No Added Noise

The unit contains no fan or active cooling components so it adds zero acoustic noise to the system. Power draw is limited to the mSATA drive itself because the adapter circuitry is passive. Thermals depend entirely on the installed drive and the airflow inside the host chassis.

Questions about this item

How do I install an mSATA SSD into the 2.5" enclosure and connect it to my laptop?

Insert the mSATA drive into the board at a slight angle, press down until the clips click, secure with the screw, then slide the 2.5" caddy into the laptop SATA bay.

Will I need to replace any part of the caddy if I later switch to a 12.7 mm drive bay?

The tray includes both 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm brackets; swap the spacer to match the bay depth without buying another enclosure.
