Aluminum mSATA Enclosure

The Hetai Tech MSG-U3-SV is a silver aluminum enclosure that converts a 1.8 inch mSATA solid-state drive into an external USB 3.0 storage device. It uses a JMS578 bridge chip and supports drives up to 2 TB capacity.

Suits portable backups, not desktop RAID

This enclosure suits users who want a lightweight, bus-powered way to access an mSATA SSD on Windows, Linux or Mac systems. Builders who need multi-drive RAID arrays, internal mounting brackets or drive cloning buttons should look at a larger dock instead.

Single-drive 2 TB limit decides fit

The enclosure accepts one mSATA 3.0 SSD with a maximum supported capacity of 2 TB. If your drive exceeds that limit or uses a different interface, this model will not work.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the enclosure is operating at full 5Gbps speed after connecting an mSATA SSD?

The JMS578 chip enables USB 3.0 Type-A at 5Gbps; check your OS device manager or system profiler to confirm the link is negotiated at SuperSpeed.

What comes in the box and do I need to supply anything else?

The package includes the aluminum alloy enclosure and an instruction manual; you must provide your own 1.8 inch mSATA SSD up to 2TB.

Is there more than one capacity or version of this MSG-U3-SV enclosure to choose from?

The enclosure itself is a single silver model supporting any mSATA SSD up to 2TB; choose the SSD capacity you need separately.
