Compact 60% Topre Keyboard

The HHKB Professional Classic CG01000-296401 is a wired keyboard that uses Topre electrostatic capacitive switches with a tactile feel and 45g actuation force. Its 60% layout reduces finger travel while keeping essential keys within reach. PBT keycaps with dye-sublimated legends resist shine and fading. The charcoal frame measures 11.6" x 4.3" x 1.6". It connects via USB-C and supports Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Suited for Typists and Programmers

Writers, developers, and enthusiasts who prefer a compact, tactile board for long sessions will appreciate the ergonomic curve and Control key placement. The board is not wireless; Bluetooth is not supported. Buyers who need dedicated function rows, arrow clusters, or a numeric keypad should look at larger layouts. No palm rest is included or integrated.

Topre Electrostatic Capacitive Switches

The defining specification is the Topre electrostatic capacitive switch, which eliminates key chatter and delivers a smooth tactile event with a 45g actuation force. This mechanism produces the characteristic 'thock' sound and a consistent feel across the 60 keys. If your workflow demands a different switch type — such as linear, clicky, or standard mechanical — this keyboard will not match that requirement.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the USB or Bluetooth connection on the HHKB Professional Classic CG01000-296401?

Use USB for wired reliability and lower latency; Bluetooth lets you pair wirelessly with Windows, Mac or Linux devices when you prefer a cable-free desk.

What does the 45g actuation force feel like during long typing sessions?

The 45g Topre electrostatic capacitive switches give a light, tactile bump that reduces finger fatigue and eliminates key chatter for precise, comfortable keystrokes.

How does the USB-C interface limit real-world use?

The USB-C port provides a wired link to the host and charges the board; Bluetooth range and stability depend on your computer's radio, not the keyboard itself.
