Compact 60% Layout for Efficient Typing

The HHKB Professional Classic Type-S is a 60% keyboard that uses Topre electrostatic capacitive switches with a tactile feel. It connects via USB Type-C or Bluetooth and features PBT keycaps in a Snow colourway. The board measures 11.6 by 4.3 by 1.6 inches and requires no batteries when wired.

Suited for Silent Work and Custom Keymaps

This keyboard suits programmers, writers and office users who want a quiet, tactile switch with a 45g actuation force and a compact footprint. The Keymap Customization Function lets you remap keys for a personal layout. Buyers who need a numeric keypad, dedicated function row or macro keys should look at larger form factors.

USB-C Wired or Bluetooth for Flexible Builds

Wired USB-C operation draws power directly from the host, removing the need for batteries or a charger. Bluetooth lets you pair with multiple devices without cables. The near-symmetrical layout keeps fingers on the home row, freeing desk space for a mouse or other peripherals.

Questions about this item

Do I need a USB-C port on my computer to use the HHKB Professional Classic Type-S CG01000-399208?

Yes, a USB Type-C port is required for the wired connection; the board draws power over USB so no batteries are needed.

Will the 60% layout and Topre electrostatic capacitive switches work alongside my existing full-size keyboard and mouse?

The compact 60-key layout saves desk space and the 45g tactile switches feel different from typical mechanical switches, so you can keep both keyboards connected and switch between them.

How can I verify the Topre silent switches and custom keymap are functioning after setup?

Each keystroke should feel tactile at 45g actuation with noticeably reduced noise, and any remapped keys you create in the Keymap Tool will behave exactly as programmed.
