Practical limits of OSDP and mobile credentials

Open Supervised Device Protocol requires a compatible controller or panel that speaks the same standard; older Wiegand-only panels will not work without an adapter. Mobile credentials depend on the holder having a supported smartphone with Bluetooth or NFC enabled. Apple Wallet integration uses Enhanced Contactless Polling, which only functions on iOS devices that support the feature. Read range varies with mounting surface and environmental interference.
