A DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, certified for Comcast Xfinity and Charter Spectrum
The Hitron CODA is a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem built for subscribers of Comcast Xfinity and Charter Spectrum. It delivers up to 2 Gbps download speeds and faster uploads for ultra-HD streaming, gaming and video calls. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports connect a Wi-Fi router or wired device directly. The Intel chipset handles 2 downstream and 2 upstream OFDM channels to reduce latency.
This modem replaces the gateway rented from your cable provider, removing monthly rental fees that can reach $168 per year on Comcast Xfinity. The upgrade is worthwhile when your plan exceeds the speed ceiling of older DOCSIS 3.0 equipment or when you want to own the hardware outright. It is not compatible with Verizon, AT&T, CenturyLink, DSL providers, DISH, DirecTV or any bundled voice service.
Confirm your active internet plan is from Comcast Xfinity or Charter Spectrum before ordering. Ensure the coaxial outlet in your home is live and the cable run supports the frequencies used by DOCSIS 3.1. You will need a separate Wi-Fi router if wireless coverage is required, as this unit provides wired Ethernet only.

The CODA modem uses a standard coaxial cable connector for the cable line input, which screws onto the threaded F-type port on the back of the unit.
Connect your router to either of the two Gigabit Ethernet ports; both provide the same 1 Gbps wired speed for your network.
Firmware updates are pushed automatically by your cable provider once the modem is provisioned on their network; no manual action is required.
