A 1/72 scale diecast F-100 Super Sabre with opening canopy, pilot figure, detachable ordnance and display stand
This 1/72 scale diecast model depicts the North American F-100 Super Sabre wearing the markings of aircraft FW-871 as displayed at the National Military Museum in Soesterberg, Netherlands. It is an officially licensed collectible aimed at adult enthusiasts of military aviation history.
The model replaces simpler toys with a highly accurate representation featuring realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details. The jump is worth it for collectors who need a display piece that matches the proportions and visual complexity of the real fighter aircraft.
Diecast metal and plastic construction gives the model a heavy, realistic feel while ensuring it withstands regular handling on a shelf. The included display stand supports the airframe securely, and the opening canopy with pilot figure plus detachable ordnance loads remain intact during routine repositioning.

The finished model measures about 7.75 inches long with a 6.5-inch wingspan, so allow a shelf at least eight inches deep and seven inches wide plus a little clearance for the included stand.
The pilot figure slots into the cockpit after the canopy is hinged open; the hinge is tight, so apply gentle pressure at the rear edge rather than prying the front to avoid stressing the clear part.
Inspect the ordnance mounting pins and canopy hinge once a year; if any pin feels loose or the hinge binds, a tiny drop of light oil on the hinge pin keeps movement smooth without harming the diecast or plastic.
