Scale and Purpose

This 1/72 scale diecast model reproduces the Lockheed YF-117 Nighthawk marked 79-10782 of the 410th FTS at Edwards AFB in 2005. It is built for adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who want an officially licensed replica with true-to-scale exterior detail.

Display and Durability

The model combines diecast metal and plastic construction to give a heavy, realistic feel while resisting handling wear. A display stand is included so the aircraft can be shown in flight attitude without additional hardware. Missile accessories are supplied for optional configuration.

Collector Focus

Panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details are rendered for an authentic representation of the prototype stealth aircraft. The product arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging, making it suitable for display or archive storage rather than active play.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the display stand to the 1/72 YF-117 without stressing the landing gear?

Lower the model onto the stand's cradle so the fuselage weight rests on the diecast belly, not the gear struts; the stand is shaped to the aircraft's contour and holds it level without screws.

Will the paint or panel-line detail on the 117 Nighthawk degrade if I keep it on the shelf long-term?

The factory-applied finish is sealed under clear coat; dust it occasionally with a soft brush and avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading over years of display.

At what point does the diecast metal construction make the 11-inch model too heavy for a standard acrylic display case shelf?

The combined metal-and-plastic build gives a substantial feel, but at 1/72 scale the weight stays well within the load rating of typical hobby-grade acrylic shelves.
