HOFFMAN A161208LP Enclosure Specifications

The HOFFMAN A161208LP is a carbon steel electrical enclosure rated NEMA 12 and 13 with an IP65 rating. It measures 16 in height and 12 in width with an 8 in depth. The solid cover uses screw-down clamps with a padlocking hasp for secure closure. A neoprene gasket and powder-coated gray finish complete the unit.

Installation Requirements Checklist

Verify that the mounting surface can support a wall-mounted enclosure of this construction. Confirm the 14/16 gauge carbon steel material suits the intended environment. Ensure the hinged cover swing clearance is available at the installation site. Check that the included 32FT25 interior panel matches your component layout needs.

Ideal Use Cases and Limitations

This enclosure suits applications requiring NEMA 12, 13 and IP65 protection with padlockable access. It fits builders needing a gray powder-coated steel box with clamps and a solid cover. Buyers who need a transparent cover or a different closure method should look elsewhere. Those requiring a non-metallic enclosure or different NEMA ratings should consider other options.
