Compact Wall-Mount Enclosure

The Hoffman A606CHFL is a carbon-steel enclosure rated NEMA 4 and 12 for indoor or outdoor wall mounting. It measures 6.0 inches high, 6.0 inches wide and 4.0 inches deep with a gray RAL 7035 textured polyester powder finish. The solid hinged cover seals with a neoprene gasket to achieve an IP66 rating. It suits installers protecting electrical components in wet or dusty environments.

Hinged Cover with Quarter-Turn Latch

The door opens on a hinge and secures with a 1/4 turn latch that includes a screwdriver slot for tool operation. External wall-mounting brackets are integrated so the box fastens directly to a flat surface without extra hardware. The 14/16 gauge steel resists distortion during mounting. Installers must ensure the gasket seats evenly and the latch engages fully to maintain the rated seal.

NEMA 4 and 12 Protection Limits

The enclosure meets NEMA 4 and 12 standards plus CSA, cUL, IEC and UL listings for protection against falling dirt, circulating dust, lint, fibers and water ingress from hose-directed streams. It is not rated for submersion, corrosive atmospheres or hazardous locations. The solid cover prevents visual inspection of internal devices without opening the door. Buyers needing transparent viewing windows or larger internal panel space should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the enclosure is sealing correctly after mounting it?

Check that the neoprene gasket compresses evenly when the 1/4-turn latch with screw-driver slot is closed, and confirm the IP66 rating by ensuring no water or dust enters during a hose-down test.

What components come with the enclosure and what must be purchased separately?

The unit ships with the carbon-steel body, hinged solid cover, 1/4-turn latch, neoprene gasket and external wall-mounting brackets; the interior panel 32FR66 is sold separately.

Which depth version should I choose for this 6×6 inch footprint?

Only the 4.0 in deep version is offered for the A606CHFL model, so select that depth when ordering.
