HOFFMAN A6R66NK NEMA 3R 6.0 in Wall Mount Enclosure

HOFFMAN A6R66NK NEMA 3R Enclosure

The HOFFMAN A6R66NK is a wall-mount enclosure built for indoor or outdoor electrical installations. Its carbon-steel body carries a NEMA 3R rating and an IP 32 rating, providing protection against falling dirt, rain and sleet. The grey ANSI 61 polyester powder finish resists corrosion in exposed locations. It suits electricians and facility managers who need a compact, listed box for junction or control wiring.

Upgrade from unrated or NEMA 1 boxes

Moving to this enclosure is worthwhile when the installation site faces wind-driven rain, splashing water or outdoor humidity that a basic indoor box cannot withstand. The screw-on solid cover with screw latches secures the interior against moisture ingress while the 12/14/16 ga steel withstands physical impact. UL and CSA listings confirm compliance for inspected work. The jump is not justified for dry, climate-controlled indoor rooms where a NEMA 1 rating already satisfies code.

Check mounting space and conduit layout

Verify that the 6.0 in height, width and depth allow the required wire-bending radius and device count for your circuit. Confirm the wall surface can accept the mounting holes and that the screw-on cover clearance suits your access needs. The solid cover prevents visual inspection without removal, so ensure local inspection rules accept this arrangement. No knockouts or cut-outs are described, so plan conduit entries accordingly.
