The Hoffman ASG4X4X3 is a NEMA Type 1 and IP30 rated electrical enclosure built from carbon steel with a galvanised grey finish. It measures four inches high by four inches wide by three inches deep and uses a screw-on solid cover with captive screw latches. The box is designed for indoor wall mounting and carries cUL listing per CSA C22.2 No 40, UL 50 and 50E, and IEC 60529 compliance.

Indoor-Only Protection Limits

The NEMA Type 1 and IP30 ratings restrict use to dry indoor environments where falling dirt is the primary concern. The enclosure does not protect against water ingress, oil, corrosive agents or external ice formation. Installers must avoid locations subject to wash-down, condensation or outdoor exposure because the screw-on cover and standard gasketing do not meet higher sealing standards.

Small-Cavity Wiring Capacity

The twelve, fourteen or sixteen gauge steel body provides a modest internal volume suited to terminal blocks, small relays or splice junctions.
