Hollywood Racks RL1F Smart Taillight

The Hollywood Racks RL1F is a bicycle rear light built for riders who want automatic brake signalling and flexible mounting. It combines 500 lumens of output with a 420mAh battery that delivers approximately 11 to 45 hours of runtime. The unit mounts on either saddle rails or a seatpost, covering most road and gravel setups. It is not for cyclists who need integrated turn signals or a headlight combo.

Aluminium shell with dual brackets and Type‑C

An aluminium alloy body dissipates heat during extended use while keeping weight low. Two brackets are included: a saddle‑rail clamp and a seatpost strap that fits round and shaped tubes. The light angle tilts up or down for optimal rear visibility. A USB Type‑C port recharges the internal lithium‑polymer cell, and coloured LEDs show charge state while riding. Buyers who require a quick‑release mount or helmet attachment will need a different solution.

Six modes with brake sensing and memory function

The taillight offers six flash patterns and two brightness levels, selectable via a single button. A built‑in sensor detects deceleration and triggers a three‑second high‑intensity flash using 24 COB beads and a central optical lens. Mode memory restores the last setting at power‑on. Battery indicators shift from green above 70 per cent to blue down to 30 per cent and red below that. Riders who want app control or wireless grouping cannot do so with this model.

Questions about this item

What USB standard does the Type-C port on the RL1F taillight use for charging?

The Type-C port charges the 420mAh lithium-polymer battery; a full charge delivers 11 to 45 hours of runtime depending on the mode selected.

What diameter seatposts can the elastic rubber rings on the RL1F bracket accommodate?

The dual brackets include a saddle-rail mount and a seatpost mount with elastic rubber rings that fit both round and special-shaped tubes.

How do you pair the brake-sensing feature on the RL1F after mounting it?

The smart brake sensor activates automatically — it brightens and flashes rapidly for about 3 seconds whenever deceleration is detected, with no pairing step required.
