Compact taillight for urban and trail riders

The Hollywood Racks 5516 Vmax+ delivers 180 lumens from COB LEDs in a 59 gram package that clips to seatposts from 15.8 to 31.6 mm. Seven flash and steady modes cover commuting, road training and mountain rides with a single USB-C charge.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

No fan or active cooling means silent operation and no thermal throttling during extended night rides. The lithium polymer cell accepts a full charge in two hours and sustains output for up to 24 hours on the lowest flash setting.

Build quality and mounting implications

An IP64 rated plastic housing resists road spray and dust while the quick release clip lets you swap the light between bikes or onto a backpack strap in seconds. The limited lifetime warranty covers the housing, mount, fasteners and LEDs against mechanical defects.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Vmax+ 5516 on my seatpost, and what size range fits?

The seatpost mount fits diameters from 15.8mm to 31.6mm, with 27.2mm being the most common. Slide the mount onto the post and tighten the clamp securely; the step people miss is checking the rubber shim alignment so the light sits straight and does not rotate under vibration.

What will need replacement on the 5516 after extended use?

The internal lithium-polymer battery is not user-replaceable; when its capacity drops below useful run time the entire unit must be swapped. The COB LEDs and plastic housing are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against defects, so only the battery lifecycle dictates replacement.

How long does the 180 lumen output last on the brightest mode before the battery needs recharging?

The highest-output daylight flash mode runs for 4 hours 30 minutes per charge. Lower steady or flash modes extend run time up to 24 hours, and a full USB-C recharge takes 2 hours.
