Cord reel capacity & portability

The Homeon Wheels CR-88 is a cord storage reel built from impact-resistant plastic with integrated wheels and a carrying bag. It holds up to 135 feet of 16/3 cord or 120 feet of 14/3 cord and weighs 0.848 kilograms. A centre rotating handle and side handles provide smooth manual winding and unwinding.

Suits outdoor users; not for fixed installs

This reel suits anyone who needs a portable, weather-resistant way to manage long extension cords on job sites, campsites or around the garage. The built-in 10 amp circuit breaker, lighted triple tap and rocker switch support safe multi-outlet use outdoors. Buyers who need a permanently mounted, hard-wired reel without a handle or bag should look at something else.

10 amp circuit breaker rating

The single specification that decides fit is the 10 amp circuit breaker integrated into the triple tap. It limits total connected load to 10 amps, so the reel is appropriate only for tools and lighting that stay within that current draw.

Questions about this item

How hot does the 10 amp circuit breaker get when the reel runs all day?

The built-in 10 amp breaker protects the circuit; it will trip before heat becomes a problem during continuous use.

What cord gauges and lengths must I already own to fill the 125 foot capacity?

It holds up to 125 feet of 16/3 cord or 100 feet of 14/3 cord, so you need one of those combinations.

Will the lighted triple tap and auto-guide rewind still work with a pre-2008 extension cord?

Yes, the reel accepts any standard 16/3 or 14/3 cord regardless of age; the triple tap and rewind operate independently of cord vintage.
