What it does and who it is for

The HomeSpot BA310 Bluetooth Audio Receiver adds wireless streaming to any home stereo system that has Optical, RCA or 3.5mm inputs. Music enthusiasts can keep their existing equipment while playing audio from smartphones or tablets. The adapter supports stereo playback through two channels and requires no complex wiring or programming to operate.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit is a compact receiver measuring 6.0 in by 6.0 in by 4.0 in with no moving parts, so it runs silently and generates negligible heat during normal use. Power consumption is minimal because the device only drives its Bluetooth radio and audio output stage. No fan or active cooling is present, making it suitable for placement on any shelf or cabinet.

The specification that decides fit

Stable Bluetooth connectivity is maintained up to 100 feet from the source device, giving flexible placement options throughout a typical home. If your listening position or equipment rack sits farther away, the link may become unreliable. The receiver handles LC3 Auracast, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive and aptX HD codecs for high-quality wireless audio.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the BA310 to my stereo and which step do people often miss?

Plug the receiver into power, then connect its Optical, RCA or 3.5 mm output to the matching input on your stereo; the step people miss is selecting that same input on the stereo before pairing.

What part of the BA310 will need replacement first?

The internal rechargeable battery is the only component that degrades with charge cycles; when it no longer holds a full day's charge, the unit must be replaced.

At what distance does the BA310 connection become unreliable?

The manufacturer rates a stable link up to 100 feet; beyond that range walls and interference usually cause drop-outs first.
