Tower purifier for small rooms

The Honeywell HWLHFD230B is a tower-style air purifier designed for rooms up to 170 sq ft. It uses a permanent ifD filter that captures 99% of ultra-fine particles such as smoke, dust, pollen, mold spores and pet dander. The unit operates with whisper-quiet performance across three cleaning power levels.

Buyers who need washable filters only

This model suits owners who want a permanent filter they can rinse with water instead of replacing cartridges. A washable pre-filter traps larger particles before they reach the main filter. It is not for buyers who need coverage beyond 170 sq ft or who require a carbon stage for odour and VOC removal.

110 CADR rating

The clean air delivery rate is 110, which determines how quickly the purifier cleans the rated room size. This figure lets you verify the unit matches the 13 ft by 13 ft maximum room dimension specified by the manufacturer.

Questions about this item

Does the Honeywell HWLHFD230B need any extra filters before I can use it?

No. The unit ships with a permanent ifD filter and a washable pre-filter already installed, so nothing else must be purchased to start cleaning the air.

Will the 110 CADR rating still help if I keep my older portable ionizer running in the same 170 sq ft room?

Yes. The purifier’s 110 CADR works independently; running both devices together simply adds more air changes without any conflict between the technologies.

How can I confirm the HWLHFD230B is actually cleaning after I turn it on?

Watch the clean-filter indicator light — it stays off while the permanent filter is functioning normally, and the three power levels let you hear the airflow increase as you step up.
