Hands-Free Area-Imaging Scanner

The Honeywell Orbit HF680 is a presentation scanner built for point-of-sale environments. It reads 1D and 2D barcodes, including digital codes on screens and damaged labels, without requiring the operator to handle the device. Its white finish and low-profile design suit modern checkout counters where speed and appearance both matter.

USB Connection and Configuration Utility

Verify that your POS system has an available USB port and supports OPOS or JPOS drivers before ordering. The scanner integrates through Honeywell's EZConfig utility, which simplifies setup and firmware updates. No specialised cabling or external power supply is mentioned in the specifications, so standard USB power should be sufficient.

Sustained Checkout Throughput

The megapixel sensor and 1 GHz processor maintain rapid decode rates during continuous scanning sessions, reducing queue build-up at busy periods. Recessed LEDs illuminate codes only when needed and dim automatically between scans, limiting heat buildup and operator glare. This behaviour supports steady performance across a full trading day rather than just short bursts.
