Compact USB stereo speaker for tidy desks

The HONKYOB H002 is a 2.0 portable speaker that draws audio and power from a single USB cable. It suits laptop and desktop users who want stereo sound without a separate power brick or 3.5 mm jack. Two 0.5 inch drivers sit in a 3.14 x 1.2 x 1.78 inch housing that weighs 90 grams. The 47 inch cable reaches most notebook ports easily.

Passive cooling with no fan noise

Because the speaker runs on USB bus power at 1 watt total, it generates minimal heat and has no moving parts. Operation is silent when idle and stays cool during normal listening sessions. No driver installation is required on USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 systems. The single-cable design keeps the desk free of extra power cords.

Upgrade from built-in laptop speakers

This unit replaces tinny internal speakers for clearer dialogue and wider stereo separation. The jump is worth it when you need better volume for video calls, streaming or casual gaming without headphones. Buyers who need volume control on the speaker, a 3.5 mm input, or higher output for larger rooms should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the H002 and what step do people miss?

Plug the 47 inch USB cable into a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port; the single cable carries both power and audio, so do not look for a 3.5 mm jack — that is the step users overlook.

What maintenance or replacement will the H002 need later?

No user-serviceable parts are described; the 0.5 inch dual drivers are sealed inside the 3.14 x 1.2 x 1.78 inch enclosure, so upkeep is limited to keeping the USB connector and cable free of dust and damage.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the H002?

The 1 watt total power rating and USB bus-powered design mean maximum loudness and dynamic headroom are the first constraints you will reach during extended playback.
