Scale and audience

This 1/6 scale action figure depicts Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise. It stands approximately 12.2 inches tall and is manufactured by Hot Toys as a collectible item. The product is rated for ages 14 and up and is designed for display rather than active play.

Articulation limits

The figure features 30 movable points allowing a range of poses for display purposes. Joints are engineered for positioning on a stand or shelf but are not rated for rough handling or repeated repositioning. Plastic construction means stress marks can appear if joints are forced beyond their intended range.

Display capacity

At 35 centimetres the figure fits standard 1/6 scale display cabinets and themed dioramas. The size provides detailed sculpting on the head and costume while remaining manageable for most shelf depths. Collectors seeking larger centrepiece statues or smaller desk-scale models will need a different format.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 31 cm or 35 cm version of the Hot Toys MMS366 Ripley figure?

The figure stands about 12.2 inches tall, which equals roughly 31 cm; the 35 cm figure in the specifications is the same measurement rounded differently.

How much shelf space does the 12.2 inch height actually need once the figure is posed?

At 1/6 scale with 30 movable points the figure fits in a display roughly 31 cm high, but dynamic poses with accessories may require a few extra centimetres of depth.

What does the 1/6 scale mean for compatibility with other Hot Toys stands and accessories?

The 1/6 scale matches standard Hot Toys figure stands and diorama pieces, so the included themed stand and any 1/6 props will fit the 30-point articulated body.
