Collectible 1/6 Scale Droid Set

This Hot Toys MMS442 set reproduces BB-8 and BB-9E from Star Wars: The Last Jedi at 1/6 scale. Both spherical figures feature magnetically attached heads with LED light-up functions and detailed paint applications. The set also includes an exclusive 1/6 scale Mouse Droid. It is intended for collectors aged 14 and above.

Display Thermals and Power Draw

As static collectible figures made from plastic, BB-8 and BB-9E generate no heat and produce no audible noise during display. The LED light-up function in each head requires a small battery supply but draws minimal power. No external power connection or cooling consideration is needed for shelf presentation.

Upgrade From Basic Figures

This set replaces smaller, non-articulated droid toys that lack internal balancing mechanisms or illuminated heads. The 30 movable points on BB-8 and the mechanical detailing under BB-9E's grilles provide a significant step up in accuracy. The jump is worth it for display-focused collectors who want film-accurate weathering, magnetic head articulation and the exclusive Mouse Droid in a single package.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the magnetic heads to the spherical bodies of the BB-8 and BB-9E figures?

Align the head with the body's magnetic connection point and let it snap into place; the self-balancing mechanism inside BB-8 keeps the head oriented correctly while you position it.

What maintenance will the LED light-up functions in the heads require over time?

The LED units are sealed inside the magnetically attached heads; when the batteries eventually deplete you will need to open the head compartments to replace them.

At what point does the self-balancing mechanism in BB-8 stop keeping the head upright during extended display?

The internal self-balancing system runs on the same batteries as the LED; once that power is exhausted the head will no longer auto-level on the spherical body.
