Deluxe Mech Test Collectible

The Hot Toys MMS582 is a 1/6 scale Tony Stark action figure based on the Mech Test scene from the 2008 Iron Man film. It features a newly developed head sculpt with authentic Robert Downey Jr. likeness, LED arc reactor lighting on the chest, palms and legs, plus articulated mechanical armor pieces on the gauntlet and lower legs.

Upgrade From Basic Display Figures

This deluxe version adds the dynamic diamond shaped figure stand and a printed workshop backdrop that recreates the mansion testing environment. The 30 movable points and wired mechanical detailing around the torso provide poseability and film accuracy that static statues or standard releases cannot match. The jump is worth it for collectors who want a complete diorama piece rather than a standalone figure.

Build Integration And Display Requirements

At 31 cm tall the figure needs adequate shelf height and a stable surface for the included stand. The LED arc features require batteries which are not included, so plan for accessible battery compartments when positioning the piece. The casual outfit and removable armor elements allow multiple display configurations, freeing collectors from a single fixed pose.

Questions about this item

Does the 12.2-inch figure need a special stand for the light-up arc reactor and leg thrusters?

How are the 30 movable points articulated for the Mech Test wiring?

The 30 articulation points let you position the upper-body mechanical wires that stretch across the torso exactly as shown in the workshop scene.

Will the LED arc reactor and thruster lights need battery changes?

The LED light-up functions on the chest arc reactor, repulsor palms and legs are battery-powered and will require fresh cells when the illumination dims.
