Scale & Presentation

The Hot Toys QS021 is a 1/4 scale collectible set from Iron Man 2, standing approximately 48.6 cm tall with over 40 points of articulation. It includes a detailed Suit-Up Gantry with multiple LED light-up areas on mechanical arms and platform, realistic cable and wire design, and layered paint applications. The figure features authentic Robert Downey Jr. likeness with metallic gold and red armor finish.

Collector Fit

This set suits display-focused collectors who want a movie-accurate Hall of Armor centrepiece with articulated posing options and light-up gantry effects. The 14+ age rating and delicate paint work make it unsuitable for young children or rough play. Buyers seeking a compact shelf figure should note the 47 cm height and gantry footprint require significant display space.

Gantry Functionality

The bundled gantry adds motorised-style presentation with LED illumination across arms and base, enabling recreation of the iconic suit-up sequence. Articulated mechanical arms hold the figure during display while integrated lighting highlights armor details. No separate software or app control is included; all light functions are battery operated directly on the gantry and helmet.

Questions about this item

What display space is needed for the 1/4th scale gantry that stands approximately 18.5 inches tall?

The Suit-Up Gantry measures about 18.5 inches in height, so allow at least that much vertical clearance plus room for the articulated mechanical arms to extend during posing.

Can the 40 points of articulation on the Mark IV figure match poses with earlier 1/6th scale Iron Man figures?

The Mark IV offers over 40 articulation points at 1/4th scale, making it larger and more posable than 1/6th scale releases, so joint positions will not align directly with smaller figures.

How do I confirm the LED light-up helmet and gantry platform are functioning correctly after assembly?

Insert batteries into the helmet and gantry base, then activate each switch; the helmet should glow white and multiple LEDs on the gantry arms and platform should illuminate steadily.
