1U 4-Bay Hot-Swap Server Chassis

The HOTCFWQ chassis is a 1U rackmount enclosure built for dense storage in a 19-inch rack. It fits motherboards up to 12" x 13" and includes a 500W 1U power supply. Four 40mm fans provide airflow through the steel frame.

Suits Four-Drive SATA Arrays

This unit serves builds that need four hot-swap 3.5" drives on a 6Gb/s SATA backplane with SGPIO monitoring. It does not suit installations that require more than one full-height PCIe expansion slot or front-panel USB 3.0 without the optional upgrade.

Single PCIe Expansion Slot

Only one full-height PCI or PCIe slot is available for add-in cards such as RAID controllers or network adapters. Builds needing multiple expansion cards must choose a different chassis.

Questions about this item

How do I service the 40 mm fans if one fails?

The chassis uses four 4028 AVC ball-bearing fans; each can be removed from the front or rear without tools for replacement.

What limits continuous operation of the 6 Gb/s SATA backplane?

The backplane includes a temperature-control chipset that will throttle drive links if internal heat exceeds its design threshold.

How much heat and noise do the four 40 mm fans produce under full load?

Four 4028 ball-bearing fans move enough air for steady 1U operation; expect noticeable high-pitched airflow noise in quiet rooms.
