12-Bay 2U Rackmount Storage Chassis

The HOTCFWQ chassis is a 2U rackmount enclosure built for dense 3.5-inch drive deployments. It accepts up to twelve hot-swap SAS or SATA drives through a 6 Gb/s backplane that also offers a 12 Gb/s mini SAS option. The frame is formed from 1.0 mm SGCC zinc-coated steel and fits a standard 19 inch rack.

Sustained thermal behaviour

Three 8038 ball-bearing fans ship as standard, with mounting points for a fourth unit to increase airflow. A temperature-control chipset on the backplane monitors drive thermals and adjusts fan speed to keep all twelve bays stable during continuous read or write workloads. The ventilated front-to-rear path prevents local hot spots when the chassis is fully populated.

Interface and expansion limits

The backplane delivers 6 Gb/s per drive over SAS or SATA links, with a 12 Gb/s mini SAS variant available for controllers that support the higher rate. Seven full-height PCI or PCIe slots provide add-in card room, while the motherboard tray accommodates boards up to 12 by 10.5 inches. Front-panel USB 2.0 ports are standard, with USB 3.0 offered as an option.
