A 3U rackmount chassis holds sixteen hot-swappable 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drive bays behind a 6 Gb/s expander backplane and fits E-ATX boards up to 12 by 13 inches
The HOTCFWQ 3U rackmount chassis fits a standard 19-inch rack and accepts E-ATX motherboards up to 12 by 13 inches. It provides sixteen hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays that support SATA and SAS drives at 6Gb/s through an expander backplane with a temperature control chipset. This density suits storage-heavy workloads such as cloud storage, big data processing or security monitoring arrays.
Cooling is handled by three included 12038L ball-bearing fans that move air across the drive bays and motherboard area. The backplane integrates a temperature control chipset to monitor drive thermals. Power comes from either a 2U standard supply or a redundant power supply, both fitting the chassis form factor.
Two front-accessible USB 2.0 ports are standard, with USB 3.0 available as an option. The rear offers seven full-height PCI or PCIe expansion slots for additional controllers or network cards. System LEDs and switches on the front panel cover power, reset, drive activity, network status, unit identification and fan or power failure alerts.

Mount the E-ATX board up to 12 x 13 inches using the standard rack holes; keep cables routed behind the backplane so the 3.5-inch hot-swap trays slide freely.
The fans are rated for continuous operation; plan to swap them when bearing noise increases or the OH/FAN Fail LED lights on the front panel.
The expander’s 6Gb/s SAS link to the host controller saturates before individual SATA or SAS drives reach their own limits.
