A 4U rackmount chassis holding 24 hot-swappable 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives with expander backplane options and three 12038 ball-bearing fans
The HOTCFWQ S465-24 is a 4U rackmount server chassis built for high-density storage deployments. It fits a standard 19-inch rack and accepts motherboards up to 12 by 13 inches. Twenty-four hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays support SATA and SAS drives at 6Gb/s speeds. This chassis targets integrators building cloud storage, big data, or surveillance platforms.
Cooling is handled by three 12038H ball-bearing fans supplied as standard. The fans move air across the drive bays and motherboard area to manage thermal load in a fully populated 24-bay configuration. A temperature control chipset on the backplane monitors conditions and can adjust fan behaviour accordingly. The steel construction aids structural rigidity but does not add active cooling.
The unit ships with a choice of 6Gb/s or 12Gb/s MINI SAS or expander backplanes, each including the temperature control chipset. This selection determines how the 24 drive bays connect to the host controller and affects cabling topology. Power can be supplied by a standard PS2 unit or a redundant power supply, allowing the builder to match availability requirements. Seven full-height PCI/PCIe expansion slots and two front USB 2.0 ports (with optional USB 3.0) complete the I/O and expansion capacity.

Slide each drive into a bay until the latch clicks; the step often missed is securing the latch fully so the backplane connector seats on the 6Gb/s or 12Gb/s MINI SAS or expander backplane.
The three 12038H ball bearing fans should be cleaned of dust regularly and replaced if bearing noise appears or airflow drops.
The 6Gb/s SAS/SATA interface on each of the 24 bays caps per-drive throughput before the 12Gb/s expander or backplane becomes a bottleneck.
