Holds 24 hot-swap 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives in a 4U rackmount chassis with 6Gb/s or 12Gb/s miniSAS backplane options and three 12038 ball-bearing fans
The HOTCFWQ S465-24 is a 4U rackmount server chassis built for high-density storage deployments. It fits a standard 19-inch rack and houses twenty-four hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays behind a mini-SAS backplane. The enclosure is constructed from 1.0 mm SGCC zinc-coated steel and supports motherboards up to 12 by 13 inches.
This chassis suits builders assembling cloud storage, big data, or surveillance platforms that need twenty-four SAS or SATA drives in a single 4U enclosure. The 6 Gb/s or 12 Gb/s backplane options with integrated temperature monitoring serve distributed storage workloads. Buyers needing a tower form factor, fewer than twenty-four bays, or a different drive interface should consider other enclosures.
The backplane type decides whether this chassis matches your controller and drives. Options include 6 Gb/s or 12 Gb/s mini-SAS or expander backplanes, each with a temperature control chipset. Verify your HBA or RAID card supports the exact backplane variant before purchase.

Choose 12Gb/s miniSAS for direct-attached SAS-3 controllers and maximum per-drive bandwidth; choose 12Gb/s expander when you need all 24 bays behind a single HBA port and can accept shared throughput; the 6Gb/s variants cost less and suit SATA or SAS-2 drives.
Each 3.5" bay can transfer up to 6Gb/s per SATA III or SAS-2 drive; with a 12Gb/s backplane the same bay supports 12Gb/s SAS-3 drives, but the 6Gb/s figure caps SATA and older SAS devices.
A 6Gb/s miniSAS link caps each connected drive at 6Gb/s, while a 12Gb/s miniSAS link allows 12Gb/s SAS-3 drives to run at full speed; SATA drives stay at 6Gb/s regardless of the link.
