Short USB-A to USB-C cable for portable charging

The HOTNOW CB05_15cm is a 15 cm male-to-male cable with a USB-A plug on one end and a USB-C plug on the other. It supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 data rates up to 10 Gbps and is backward compatible with 5 Gbps and 480 Mbps standards. The nylon-braided jacket and aluminium connector shells provide physical durability for daily carry. It does not support video output.

Suits users who need a short tether for power

The 15 cm length keeps clutter to a minimum when charging a phone from a portable battery or connecting to a car’s USB-A port for Android Auto. Buyers who require a longer reach for desk peripherals, wall chargers or laptop ports should look at something else. The cable also cannot drive a display, so anyone needing video alternates will need a different product.

Handles 10 Gbps file transfers and 3 A fast charging

With USB 3.1 Gen 2 the cable moves large media libraries at up to 10 Gbps, while the integrated 56 kΩ pull-up resistor enables safe 3 A charging at 5 V, 9 V or 12 V profiles. It will not deliver higher Power Delivery voltages or 20 Gbps throughput, so very high-wattage laptops and the fastest external SSDs will run out of headroom.

Questions about this item

Do I need a USB-A port on my computer or power bank to use this cable?

Yes, one end is a standard USB-A male connector so the host or charger must provide a USB-A receptacle.

Will this cable run at 10 Gbps when I plug it into a USB 3.0 port?

It will fall back to 5 Gbps on a USB 3.0 port and 480 Mbps on USB 2.0.

How can I confirm the cable is delivering 3 A fast charging?

Check the device's charging indicator or settings screen; it should show a rapid-charge rate such as 5 V / 3 A or 9 V / 2 A.
