  • 82 mm thread fits compatible lenses directly

82mm Star 4X Cross Screen Filter

The HOYA Creative Star 4X is an 82mm glass filter that adds a four-beam flare to bright point sources. It suits photographers who want in-camera star effects on night cityscapes, water reflections or jewellery highlights without relying on post-processing.

Four-line cross pattern capacity

Etched lines on the optical glass turn each strong highlight into a symmetrical four-point star. The effect is most visible on isolated lights against dark backgrounds; it adds little to evenly lit scenes or diffuse subjects where distinct point sources are absent.

Upgrades from no filter or basic UV glass

Fitting this filter replaces a plain protector and instantly introduces the creative cross flare. The jump is worthwhile when the photographer regularly shoots night illumination, specular reflections or decorative lighting and wants the star look baked into the raw file.

Questions about this item

Will the 82 mm thread fit the lenses I already own?

The filter uses an 82 mm thread, so it mounts directly on any lens with an 82 mm front diameter; check the Ø marking on your lens barrel or cap to confirm.

How can I verify the 4-cross flare is rendering correctly after I attach the filter?

Aim at a bright point source such as a streetlight or reflected sunlight; you should see four distinct beams radiating from each highlight in the viewfinder or on the rear screen.

Does the package include a protective case or do I need to buy one separately?

The box contains the 82 mm Creative Star 4X glass filter only; a pouch or hard case is not included and must be purchased separately.
