HOYA Filter 82mm X1 Multi Coated Glass Filter Green

82mm Green X1 Filter for Portraits

The 82mm X1 Multi Coated Glass Filter in Green is designed for photographers who want more natural skin tones in portraits and richer foliage detail in landscapes. It darkens red tones while absorbing green and green-blue hues, rendering colours closer to what the human eye perceives. Multi-coating minimises reflections and flare for improved contrast. This filter suits both professional and amateur shooters working in colour or black-and-white photography.

Check Thread Size and Filter Stack

Before ordering, confirm that your lens has an 82mm front thread so the filter mounts securely. Verify there is enough clearance for the filter frame if you already use a protective or UV filter, as stacking can cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Ensure your lens hood, if used, will still fit over the added thickness. Clean the front element beforehand to avoid trapping dust between glass surfaces.

Replaces Uncoated or Single-Coated Green Filters

This filter upgrades from uncoated or single-coated green filters that produce more flare and lower contrast. The multi-coated layers cut reflections that older filters cannot control, making the jump worthwhile when shooting into bright light or using flash. Photographers who need a different colour effect, such as red or orange contrast filters for black-and-white work, should choose a filter matched to that specific purpose.
