HD Antistatic UV Filter 82mm

The HOYA HD Antistatic UV Filter 82mm is a camera accessory designed for photographers who require reliable lens protection and ultraviolet light reduction. It uses chemically reinforced L41 high-density sharp-cut glass to maintain outstanding optical performance across various shooting conditions. The filter serves as a durable barrier against dust, dirt, and accidental impacts to preserve valuable lens integrity. It suits users who prioritise pristine image clarity and simplified maintenance.

Antistatic coating repels dust and smudges

An advanced antistatic coating actively repels dust particles to keep the glass surface cleaner for longer periods. Loose debris becomes easier to remove during routine cleaning, reducing the risk of scratching the optical glass. The coating also resists water and oil, ensuring clear, unobstructed views in challenging environments. This combination minimises maintenance effort while protecting the filter's optical properties.

Chemically reinforced glass handles sustained

Chemically reinforced optical glass provides enhanced durability and improved impact resistance for dependable performance during extended shooting sessions. The robust high-density construction withstands daily handling and environmental stress without compromising image quality. The filter continues to reduce ultraviolet light effects and control reflections consistently over time. It delivers reliable protection and optical clarity throughout prolonged use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 82mm filter on my lens without cross-threading the threads?

Align the filter threads carefully with the 82mm lens front, then turn clockwise using light finger pressure until it seats smoothly; forcing it can damage the threads on both the filter and the lens barrel.

How should I maintain the antistatic coating on the HD filter over time?

Use a blower to remove loose dust, then wipe gently with a microfibre cloth and a drop of optical cleaning fluid; the antistatic layer repels particles but still needs occasional careful cleaning to stay effective.

At what point does the UV filter start to affect image sharpness during long shooting sessions?

The chemically reinforced L41 glass maintains clarity under sustained use; any softness usually comes from dust or moisture on the antistatic surface rather than the glass itself, so keep it clean.
