Everyday productivity laptop

The HP 14-dq1035cl is a 14.0-inch silver laptop built for daily office work, web browsing and video calls. It runs Windows 10 Home on a 10th generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 12GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. The non-touch IPS anti-glare display shows 1920x1080 resolution for clear text and images.

Sustained workload behaviour

The quad-core processor operates at a 1.0GHz base frequency and can reach 3.6GHz with Intel Turbo Boost when thermal headroom allows. During long sessions the integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares system memory, so heavy multitasking may reduce available RAM for graphics tasks. Battery life is rated up to 10 hours and 15 minutes under mixed usage, though continuous high load will shorten that window.

Installation and common issues

The laptop arrives ready to use with Windows pre-installed and a Tigology mousepad included. No optical drive is present, so software must be downloaded or loaded via the multi-format SD card reader or USB ports. The single 1x1 Wireless-AC adapter and Bluetooth 4.2 may limit throughput in crowded radio environments. Only one USB Type-C Gen 1 port is available, so users needing multiple Type-C connections will require a hub.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.0 GHz base clock on the i5-1035G1 keep fan noise low during long work sessions?

The 1.0 GHz base frequency and 6 MB cache help the processor stay cool under light loads, so fan activity stays minimal during typical all-day office use.

What must I already own to connect an external monitor to the HDMI port?

You only need a standard HDMI cable; the laptop provides a full-size HDMI output and Intel UHD Graphics to drive a second screen.

Will my 802.11n router work with the 802.11 Wireless-AC WLAN (1x1) card?

Yes, the Wireless-AC adapter is backward-compatible with 802.11n networks, so your existing router will connect without extra hardware.
