HP 14 laptop AMD A9-9425

The HP 14 laptop ships with an AMD A9-9425 dual-core processor that reaches 3.7GHz turbo frequency, 4GB of DDR4 memory at 2400MHz and a 1TB NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 10 Pro S Mode on a 14" HD panel at 1366 x 768 resolution with integrated AMD Radeon R5 graphics. The configuration targets students and office workers who need a lightweight system for web browsing, document editing and media playback.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The silver chassis uses a micro-edge bezel to fit the 14.0" display in a compact frame. A 720p webcam sits above the screen for video calls. Physical ports include HDMI output for external monitors, a card reader for quick photo transfers, USB-C for modern peripherals, plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless accessories. The precision touchpad supports multi-finger gestures for efficient navigation without a mouse.

Upgrade path and fit

The 1TB NVMe drive replaces smaller or mechanical storage, cutting boot and load times for the operating system and applications. Memory slots support up to 32GB total, so adding a second SO-DIMM can lift multitasking headroom when 4GB becomes a bottleneck. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for creative workloads or gaming, or who require a higher-resolution display for colour-critical work, should look at other models.

Questions about this item

What display interface does the HDMI port support, and what resolution does it cap at?

The HDMI port drives an external monitor up to the panel's native 1366 x 768 resolution; higher modes depend on the external display and cable quality.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and screw pattern for a VESA mount or replacement bezel?

The 14.0-inch micro-edge chassis uses standard HP 14 mounting points; the bezel clips and four base screws secure the panel without a VESA pattern.

How is the single SO-DIMM slot accessed for a memory upgrade, and which step do owners often miss?

Remove all base screws, lift the keyboard deck, then insert the DDR4 SO-DIMM at 2400MHz into the lone slot — forgetting to seat the notch fully is the common error.
