17.3" HD+ Touch Display

This laptop centres on a 17.3 inch HD+ touch panel with a 1600 x 900 resolution and anti-glare coating. The screen supports direct touch input for navigation and creative tasks. Integrated Intel Graphics drive the display for everyday visual workloads.

Intel Core 5 120U with 32GB DDR4

The Intel Core 5 120U processor delivers 10 cores and 12 threads with a maximum turbo frequency of 5.0 GHz and 12 MB of L3 cache. A 1 TB NVMe solid-state drive provides the primary storage. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and supports expansion up to 64 GB.

Replaces older large-screen portables

This device supersedes earlier 17 inch laptops limited to lower memory ceilings and slower wireless standards. The jump is worthwhile when a bigger touch workspace, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and a full-size backlit keyboard with numeric keypad are required. It is not suited for buyers who need discrete graphics performance or higher-resolution panels.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core 5 120U throttle under a sustained 5.0 GHz load?

The processor reaches 5.0 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost, but sustained all-core speeds depend on the 41 Wh battery and thermal design; expect clocks to settle lower during long heavy workloads.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the 10-core CPU runs all day?

A 15 W-class chip in a 0.81" thin, 4.8 lb body with a small 41 Wh battery means fans will spin up noticeably and the bottom deck warms up during extended multi-threaded tasks.

Does the 32 GB DDR4 configuration leave any SODIMM slots free for me to reach the 64 GB maximum?

The platform supports up to 64 GB DDR4; whether a slot remains open depends on the factory or upgrade configuration used to reach 32 GB, so check the physical layout before buying more memory.
