Core Ultra 5 120U processor

The Intel Core Ultra 5 120U delivers ten cores and twelve threads with a maximum turbo frequency of 5 GHz. This 14th generation architecture suits home office workers and students who need responsive multitasking across browser tabs, documents and video calls. The 17.3 inch Full HD display provides ample screen space for side-by-side windows without requiring an external monitor.

32GB DDR4 and 512GB NVMe

Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory lets you keep dozens of tabs and office applications open simultaneously. The 512GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive boots Windows 11 Home quickly and stores a large local library of documents and media. Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wireless peripherals and network shares without extra dongles.

17.3 inch 60Hz IPS panel

The 60Hz IPS screen covers everyday productivity and streaming comfortably but is not intended for competitive gaming or colour-critical creative work. Integrated Intel Graphics handles hardware-accelerated video playback and light photo editing; heavier 3D workloads will exceed its capabilities. The 41Wh battery and 45W charger support several hours of typical office use away from a socket.

Questions about this item

Can the 32GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop ships with 32GB of DDR4 SODIMM installed. HP 17 models typically use two slots, so maximum capacity depends on whether one or both slots are occupied.

What limits sustained performance on the Core Ultra 5 120U?

The 45W power adapter and 41 WHr battery cap continuous power delivery, so the 10-core processor will throttle once thermal or power limits are reached.

How loud and hot does the 17.3 inch chassis get under all-day load?

Integrated Intel Graphics and a 45W supply keep heat moderate; fan noise rises during long heavy workloads but stays typical for a thin 17 inch business laptop.
