A 17.3-inch HD+ touchscreen laptop with a 12-core Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 16GB DDR5 memory, 512GB SSD, fingerprint reader and Wi-Fi 6
The HP 17 ships new with Windows 11 Home, an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U processor running at 2.00 GHz with 12 cores and 14 threads, 16 GB of DDR5 4800 memory and a 512 GB SSD. The 17.3 inch HD+ touchscreen resolves at 1600 x 900 and uses integrated Intel Graphics. It targets office workers and students who want a large touch display, a fingerprint reader and WiFi 6 in a silver chassis.
Integrated Intel Graphics shares system memory and is suited to everyday productivity, video playback and light creative tasks; it will not drive modern games or GPU-accelerated workloads at high settings. The HD+ panel at 1600 x 900 offers touch input but provides less pixel density than full HD alternatives, so fine text and detailed images appear less sharp on the 17.3 inch screen.
The silver chassis measures 15.75 by 10.25 by 0.75 inches and weighs 4.6 lb, making it a desk-bound device rather than a frequent travel companion. Connectivity includes HDMI, USB 3.2 Type-C and a headphone/microphone combo jack, while Bluetooth 5.4 and a 720p webcam support calls. The fingerprint reader adds biometric login, but the lack of a card reader and backlit keyboard limits peripheral expansion and low-light typing.
